The short version. If you join the waitlist we keep your email address and any optional answers you give, use them only to run the beta and tell you about launch, and delete them when you ask. We don’t sell or share them, we don’t use trackers or advertising pixels, and we don’t set cookies.
Who we are
This website, latticetv.com, and its waitlist are run by LatticeTV, LLC (“Lattice”, “we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us at privacy@latticetv.com or by post at [POSTAL ADDRESS].
This policy covers the website and the waitlist. The Lattice server software and apps are covered in their own section below.
What we collect
If you join the waitlist
| Information | Required? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Yes | To invite you to the beta and tell you when Lattice launches. |
| Your consent, and when you gave it | Yes | To show that you asked to hear from us. |
| Your setup: current media server, library size, how many people you share with, players and devices, whether you use Infuse, technical comfort, and what would make you switch | No | To choose a varied group of beta testers and to understand what to build first. |
Where you heard about us, and any ref or utm_ tag in the link you followed (for example, “reddit” and a subreddit name) | No | To know which announcements reached people. These tags come from the link itself, not from tracking you. |
| The date and time you joined | Automatic | To invite people fairly and to know how long we’ve held your details. |
Please don’t put anything sensitive in the free-text answer.
When you visit any page
- No analytics, trackers or ad pixels. We don’t run analytics scripts, advertising or social-media pixels, or fingerprinting, and we don’t load fonts or other files from third parties that would see your visit.
- No cookies from us. The site sets no cookies of its own and uses no local storage.
- Network data. Like every website, ours receives your IP address and browser details when your browser asks for a page. Our host, Cloudflare, processes these to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We don’t store your IP address with your waitlist entry.
- Abuse protection. To stop automated sign-ups, we keep a short-lived, one-way scrambled (salted hash) version of the IP address that submitted the form, counted per hour. The salt changes daily, so it can’t be linked across days, and these counts are deleted within 48 hours.
Spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)
When you start filling in the waitlist form, the page loads Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a bot, is signing up. It runs in a frame served by Cloudflare and may read signals from your browser, and use data strictly needed for that check, to tell people from bots. It does not show ads or track you across sites, and we receive only a pass or fail. Cloudflare describes what it processes in its Turnstile privacy addendum. If you’d rather not use it, email hello@latticetv.com and we’ll add you by hand.
How we use it
- To invite you to the beta, which may include a few short emails about setting it up.
- To tell you when Lattice launches and how to get it.
- To pick beta testers with a mix of setups, and to understand, in aggregate, what people need.
We don’t use your information for advertising, we don’t build profiles of you from other sources, and we don’t make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects. Choosing beta testers is done by people.
Legal basis (for people in the UK, EU and similar places): your consent, which you give with the checkbox and can withdraw at any time.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for anyone else’s marketing or for cross-context behavioural advertising. We use these service providers (processors), who handle it only on our instructions:
| Provider | What for |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Hosting the website (Pages), storing the waitlist (D1), spam protection (Turnstile), and forwarding email sent to our addresses (Email Routing). |
If we add an email-sending service to send beta invitations, we’ll list it here before we use it. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect people from harm, and it would pass to a successor if Lattice’s business were transferred, under this policy’s protections.
International transfers. Cloudflare operates worldwide, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, transfers rely on Cloudflare’s data processing addendum and standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Waitlist entries: until you ask us to delete them, or 12 months after Lattice’s public launch, whichever comes first. If you become a beta tester or customer, that relationship has its own terms.
- Abuse-protection counts: deleted within 48 hours.
- Emails you send us: as long as needed to deal with what you asked, and then deleted.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- see the information we hold about you, and get a copy;
- correct it;
- delete it, including taking you off the waitlist;
- stop emailing you (withdrawing consent doesn’t affect anything we did before);
- restrict or object to how we use it.
Email privacy@latticetv.com from the address you signed up with. We’ll reply within 30 days, and usually much sooner. We may ask you to confirm the request from that address. We won’t treat you differently for using these rights.
If you’re in the UK or EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office). California residents have the rights above under the CCPA, including the right to know, delete and correct; we don’t sell or share personal information as the CCPA defines those terms, and we don’t use sensitive personal information.
Children
The website and waitlist are not for children. You must be at least 13 to join, and at least 16 if you’re in the EU or UK. If you believe a child has joined, email us and we’ll delete the entry.
Security
The waitlist is stored in Cloudflare D1, encrypted in transit and at rest, and only we can access it. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we hold small: there’s no password, payment or address data in the waitlist.
The Lattice software and apps
This section is a placeholder until the beta. The Lattice server runs on your own hardware, and your library and viewing data stay on it. The server and apps don’t send us tracking or telemetry by default; any feature that would share information with us will be opt-in and described here first. A full policy for the server, the iPhone app and Lattice Monitor will be published before they’re available to the public.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use the information you’ve already given us, we’ll email you first and, where the law requires it, ask again.
